Trying perfect weight thanks for the Video appreciate it
Thank you so much for the information. I wished I found this sooner. I had a horrific time with my 10 yr old Springer with different foods. Six years ago he had ACL surgery on both knees he now has implants. He has lost 10 pounds and was doing well. We kept the weight off close to a year. Unfortunately he gained it all back. I have struggled for so long to try to find the best food possible for him. I have tried everything from cooking to raw to fresh and lower calorie foods and even walking him daily. Nothing worked and I also experienced the worst with raw food. He landed in the ER. Talk about feeling the worst guilt a parent can feel. I knew the risks, but he lost so much weight and he was doing better got a bad bag of food, and paid dearly. I noticed now that he’s struggling a little more with the weight. He doesn’t have full-blown arthritis, but I do give him a daily supplement. However, after finding your video, I am looking to switch his dry food to a more appropriate weight management food. It is such a wealth of knowledge and very appreciated.
Hi Glen, Well got the dreaded advice to help my pup lose some pounds. I decided to look for videos from you and Dr Rae when starting my search. I came across this video. Would you still recommend this perfect weight? I’ve been comparing some lines with the big 3, Purina, RC, and SD. Don’t really want to go to a vet diet and hopefully can stick to one I can buy in the store. For SD I was doing a compare of perfect weight and Lite – of course clear as mudd to me lol even though SD is the most transparent of all companies on the website but don’t understand the difference from one to another. I think if I had to decide it would be between SD and Pro Plan weight management. I used to prefer RC but they are the least transparent with consumers and claim weight limits in there adult diets and stuff, it’s weird
That was a long ad
I’m so glad you included Hills Metabolic for weight loss. Coco’s ACL surgeon recommended it after her surgery. (Her vet never mentioned her weight) She’s lost 3 lbs in 7 months. (From 21.4 to 18.4lbs. She absolutely loves this food. Haven’t had a bad poop from the day we started. Couldn’t be happier with Hills.
