I raise meat rabbits without conventional rabbit pellets through the growing season (I still use pellet in the winter right now). Anyone with a lawn and some garden space can do this! Here’s how!

Is it ok to keep the buck with the doe’s full time in a colony setting?
Our grow outs are in moveable tractors that get drug around on the lawn. We use a lot of pellets, but supplement with whatever weeds/greens are available in the summer, & our own hay in the winter. They end up getting a lot of grass, burdock leaf, milk vetch & dandelion. I discovered a few weeks ago that they also like the leaves from the sunflowers & jerusalem artichoke. They get the occasional wormwood leaf or 2, some different herbs, & occasional willow/plum/cherry branches. I’d like to be able to switch to entirely our own feed so we can stop buying the pellets. The white clover in the lawn idea is very interesting!
